About the role
- Oversee the PB Urgent Care Revenue Cycle, ensuring operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary Professional Billing point of contact for urgent care stakeholders.
- Prepare and present performance summaries and insights to leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Directly manage professional billing team members supporting urgent care.
- Approve employee timecards and PTO requests, and review and approve vendor invoices in alignment with departmental policies and budgets.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance on reconciliation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Manage vendor performance for all in-scope functions for Urgent Care in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and drive vendor accountability and optimization.
- Support the planned workforce transition and develop go-forward plan for legacy AR management.
- Evaluate current performance indicators, establish baseline standards, and implement streamlined workflows to promote seamless operations and maximize productivity.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and advance operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership to update SOPs and implement process enhancements that support compliance and efficiency.
- Monitor daily work queues to ensure appropriate prioritization, productivity, and timely resolution.
- Configure Epic system settings as needed to support operations.
Requirements
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in professional billing, preferably within urgent care, outpatient, or multi-site healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing performance metrics, teams, and operational workflows.
- Strong understanding of payer rules, contracts, and professional billing processes.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and driving performance accountability.
- Demonstrated experience using Epic (PB module), including but not limited to work queue management, charge review, claim follow-up, reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
