About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Gather reporting, dashboard, and data store requirements through business analysis
Translate business requirements into implementation specifications
Create data sources including SQL stored procedures, Business Objects Universes, Microstrategy Cubes, Tableau Data Extracts, and other approved sources
Create reports and dashboards using Crystal Reports, Power BI, SSRS, Microstrategy, Tableau, and other approved tools
Support report and dashboard availability and performance for external and internal users
Train other team members
Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes
Create test cases and test reports before production deployment
Improve query, report, and data store performance using SQL methodologies
Participate in industry and professional networks
Collaborate with Business, Data Integration Engineers, Data Architects, and the team to improve processes and tool adoption
Coach and mentor team members
Lead design decisions with customer and organizational focus
Innovate BI projects and designs to improve user experience and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years’ experience writing T-SQL stored procedures
5+ years’ experience in Crystal Reports Development, SSRS, Power BI, or equivalent tools
2+ years’ experience in Star Schema modelling and methodology
Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban development methodologies
Understanding of SSIS and ETL best practices
Working knowledge of online transactional (OLTP) processing
Advanced knowledge of analytical processing (OLAP) databases, tabular models, and other consistently used EDW models/schemas
Must be comfortable with change, close collaboration, and conflict resolution
Knowledge of or willingness to learn Agile / DevOps values
Must provide own reliable, high speed internet access with sufficient bandwidth
Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required
