About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather reporting, dashboard, and data store requirements through business analysis
  • Translate business requirements into implementation specifications
  • Create data sources including SQL stored procedures, Business Objects Universes, Microstrategy Cubes, Tableau Data Extracts, and other approved sources
  • Create reports and dashboards using Crystal Reports, Power BI, SSRS, Microstrategy, Tableau, and other approved tools
  • Support report and dashboard availability and performance for external and internal users
  • Train other team members
  • Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes
  • Create test cases and test reports before production deployment
  • Improve query, report, and data store performance using SQL methodologies
  • Participate in industry and professional networks
  • Collaborate with Business, Data Integration Engineers, Data Architects, and the team to improve processes and tool adoption
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Lead design decisions with customer and organizational focus
  • Innovate BI projects and designs to improve user experience and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience writing T-SQL stored procedures
  • 5+ years’ experience in Crystal Reports Development, SSRS, Power BI, or equivalent tools
  • 2+ years’ experience in Star Schema modelling and methodology
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban development methodologies
  • Understanding of SSIS and ETL best practices
  • Working knowledge of online transactional (OLTP) processing
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical processing (OLAP) databases, tabular models, and other consistently used EDW models/schemas
  • Must be comfortable with change, close collaboration, and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Agile / DevOps values
  • Must provide own reliable, high speed internet access with sufficient bandwidth
  • Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required
