About the role
- Provide quality Occupational Therapy Services for persons with mental health issues and/or an acquired brain injury
- Service provision is recovery oriented, focusing on achieving recovery through partnerships with patients, families, and communities
- Demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of SMHC including a strong commitment to patient safety
Requirements
- Entry-to-practice academic credential in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Canadian university program or equivalent if internationally educated
- Registration required with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM)
- Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) preferred.
- Recent and relevant clinical experience preferred
- Experience in the mental health or geriatrics field would be an asset
- Successful completion of relevant continuing professional education in designated clinical area preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements in accordance with Employer policy
- Thorough knowledge of best practice standards in application of occupational therapy theory models
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer literacy as appropriate to the setting
