About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage implementation, maintenance, and critical review and analysis of models, studies, and systems using actuarial principles
  • Support pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and other actuarial functions
  • Develop complicated models and teach others how to develop models
  • Develop written and oral presentations that drive delivery of information for decision-making
  • Manage day-to-day projects, including projects involving non-actuarial departments
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of one actuarial area or business segment
  • Work in the office 3 days per week

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics; other Bachelor or higher degrees may be considered
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
  • Compliance with the membership requirements for each professional designation
  • At least 4 years of actuarial experience in the health insurance or related field
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • PC proficiency including Word and Excel
  • Preferred: Access, SQL, Visual Basic or other programming skills
  • Preferred: Medicare experience
