About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

This position creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements.
May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues.
Produces datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.
May perform research and assist in analyzing financial and health data, including medical algorithms to determine health care expenditures, medical and economic outcomes, and cost containment strategies.
Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
Contributes to the development of functional strategy.
Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.
Design and deliver sophisticated, external-facing reporting solutions that outline clear, actionable insights to our network of providers as well as internal stakeholders.
Leverage strong technical skills (SQL, R, Python, and Tableau) and healthcare industry knowledge to support and enhance client-facing engagements with HCSC’s largest Commercial customers.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field OR Master's degree with 6 years of experience OR PhD with 4 years of experience OR 12 years of experience
Understanding, and being highly proficient at querying a wide variety of internal and external data sources
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in computer languages, such as SQL, Python, R, etc.
Ability to create a dynamic and visually engaging dashboard leveraging data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
High degree of business intelligence and understanding how to take a business case from inception to customer or partner execution.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lead multiple analytic related projects in parallel.
Analytics subject matter expert.
Performance excellence in championing initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to bring the initiative to life.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality output to senior leadership
