About the role

  • The Sr. Server Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration, design, planning and implementation of core server systems at the Health Care District.
  • This individual must have in-depth experience in administration of physical/virtualized/clustered servers, Active Directory, domain controllers, Exchange, Citrix, NetApp Storage, and disaster recovery.
  • The Sr. Server Systems Engineer is also responsible for troubleshooting problems, and the rapid restoration of production service incidents.
  • The candidate will be responsible for creating status reports regarding work performed, system availability, performance and capacity utilization as required.
  • Expected to build partnerships with project teams and work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to develop proposals and supporting analysis for operational improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of server management, consolidation, VMWare, SAN (storage management), appliance management are all critical components of this position.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline required.
  • Experience: Seven to Ten (7-10) years’ technical experience with design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of Windows servers and workstations.
  • Strong Experience with Windows 2012/2016 Server environments, high availability clusters and networking.
  • 4+ years’ experience working with VMware, Active Directory, Exchange Server environments, and Citrix VDI (XenApp, XenDesktop).
  • Advanced experience with Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP.
