- Optimize gearbox layouts, reduce backlash and tolerance stacks
- Develop hygienically optimized, dishwasher‑safe assemblies (food contact)
- Reduce footprint and validate internal packaging/layout
- Mechanical reliability testing (>1,000 cycles)
- Electronics & sensors (orchestration)
- Manage redesign of the position detection system (magnetic, optical or mechanical)
- Coordinate PCB adoption and development of add‑on boards (motor control / 48V)
- Guide integration of a camera‑based detection system with cloud analysis
- Design for Manufacturing (DfM) for small‑batch production (3D printing / vacuum casting)
- Collaborate with external manufacturing partners
- Support certification efforts (CE, EMC) and material evaluation
- In the long term, contribute to other products and projects as well
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering or similar
- Several years of experience developing mechatronic systems—from concept to physical prototype
- Strong hands‑on CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks or Fusion 360)
- Experience with drive systems, gearboxes, linear guides and actuators
- Ability to lead a small, mixed team of internal and external engineers
- Understanding of electronics and sensors—you don’t need to design PCBs yourself, but you must speak the same language as electronics engineers
