  • Approximately 20,000–25,000 words across employment policies, employee handbook, and operational materials
  • Source documents provided in English; delivery in Canadian French (Québécois French), formal register (use of “vous”)
  • Documents are employee-facing and some are legally significant (e.g., policies that must comply with the Charter of the French Language), so accuracy and appropriate terminology are essential
  • Delivered in batches according to a milestone schedule to be agreed upon

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Native or near-native Canadian French (Québécois French)
  • Professional translation experience, ideally with HR, employment, or corporate content
  • OTTIAQ, ATIO, or equivalent credential strongly preferred
  • Consistent terminology and attention to formatting
  • Operates as an established freelance business or sole proprietor (own business number is an asset)
  • Able to maintain confidentiality (a mutual NDA will be signed before documents are shared)
