About the role
- Sell MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) supplies and Jan/San (janitorial and sanitary) products to an established portfolio of customers
- Manage territory centered around Philadelphia and covering all of Pennsylvania and parts of southern and central New Jersey
- Exceed sales and profit targets by implementing sales and marketing programs and establishing short- and long-term sales strategies
- Drive growth by securing profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting
- Generate strategic sales call schedules and conduct face-to-face customer visits to identify opportunities and promote value-added solutions
- Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of qualified accounts using company CRM and Salesforce reporting
- Review customer portfolio to address underperforming accounts and collaborate with inside sales to support growth
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues and work independently with limited supervision
- Regular operation of a personal vehicle (>50% of average work week); acceptable MVR required
Requirements
- Proactive sales professional with organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize selling activities and administrative tasks
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to manage existing customer base
- Experience with consultative/solution selling preferred
- Proficiency in Salesforce, or similar CRM
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goal
- 2-5 years business to business (B2B) field sales experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline; MS/MA with less experience may be acceptable
- Must be able to operate a personal vehicle consistently more than 50% of the work week and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Willingness to conduct face-to-face customer visits and territory travel (overnight travel <10%)
