About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with Underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies and endorsements
Maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers
Prepare and review policy files and documentation for accuracy and completeness
Request and verify Broker of Record letters and other underwriting documentation
Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Serve as a mentor to Junior Underwriting Assistants
Act as a Subject Matter Expert and Quality Review Coordinator across multiple lines of business
Prepare policies for issuance using the appropriate Policy Administration System (PAS)
Support the development, review, and implementation of Program Series guidelines and SOPs
Lead or assist in PAS testing and review initiatives in collaboration with management
Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.
3-5 years minimum directly supporting commercial lines underwriters.
Bachelor's degree; OR 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting.
Working knowledge of PDF, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the year.
