About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver case management through the identification of possible reasons for ill health or injury
  • Consider the most appropriate intervention needed to reduce the risk of employee being absent from work
  • Shape outcomes by guiding line managers and HR
  • Ensure employees can return to work safely and confidently
  • Handle a combination of telephone and video consultations
  • Collaborate across multiple departments
  • Establish the current reason for ill health/injury and identify any underlying cause or contributory risk factors
  • Communicate to the employee the multifactorial issues associated with the current episode of ill health/injury
  • Access the most appropriate treatment intervention via the NHS or the private sector
  • Help customers line management/HR/Health and Safety managers understand the implications of the assessment
  • Work seamlessly with the onsite Functional Health Team to take referrals and provide tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous case management, occupational health, or similar experience
  • Experience with Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Confident telephone skills using effective listening and empathy with employees and stakeholders
  • Adopt an investigatory approach to cases
  • Ability to understand the impact of work on an individual and the impact of ill health on an individuals ability to work
  • Understand and demonstrate GDPR, DPA & ICO rules and guidelines relating to customers
  • General occupational health and legal principles.
  • How to effectively manage an integrated health approach to the prevention and management of workplace ill health/injury
  • Empathetic, professional, and confident in your communication, both on the phone and virtually.
  • Analytical and solution-focused, able to interpret data and identify obstacles to recovery.
  • Qualified physiotherapist, corrective exercise professional, counsellor, CBT practitioner, nutritionist, physiologist, nurse or other appropriately qualified professional.
  • Proven hands-on experience in case management, occupational health, or supporting employees through periods of ill health or injury. Practical experience, empathy, and problem-solving ability are just as important as formal qualifications.
