Principal Product Development Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership in the design and development of customized sensor solutions
- Serve as a subject matter expert in finite element analysis
- Develop and review advanced mechanical designs
- Partner with customers to translate requirements into product solutions
- Lead technical trade studies and design reviews
- Drive innovation in robotics and automation-related sensor applications
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on production processes
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s or PhD strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical product development
- Expertise in stress analysis and finite element modeling
- Extensive experience with FEA tools (Creo Simulate preferred)
- Proven track record in leading complex programs
- Experience designing for robotics or automation preferred
- Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
