About the role
- Assist in preparing engineering deliverables, including existing condition and alternative analysis reports, hydraulic models, construction drawings, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
- Work directly with senior level engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop.
- Attend client and internal project management meetings.
- Support and assist in the delivery of multiple projects from planning through construction while demonstrating Hazen’s culture and while maintaining quality, budget and schedule.
- Participate in site visits within the City of Charlotte and surrounding municipalities, to include: Existing Condition Assessments, Utility Coordination Meetings, Pre-Construction Conferences, Construction Progress Meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, biological engineering, or related engineering field.
- Strong interest in stormwater management.
- Strong communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience within the civil engineering industry that counts towards PE license.
- EIT certification.
- Conducts self-quality reviews before submitting work for additional QA/QC.
- Proficiency in GIS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Experience with NCDOT and City of Charlotte standard specifications and details.
