About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide advanced procedural guidance and advice to lawyers regarding motion practice, discovery, appeals, etc.
  • Assist with and handle electronic case filings and document retrieval.
  • Perform legal research to advise litigators on procedural matters.
  • Screen and review court documents and deadlines using the firm’s docketing system.
  • Supervise monitoring of the Firm’s docketing and calendar systems.
  • Ensure that attorneys are informed of filing deadlines and court appearances.
  • Coordinate with process servers for service of legal documents.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years relevant experience in a Managing Attorney’s Office at a comparably sized or larger law firm.
  • Familiarity with litigation practice.
  • Advanced knowledge of Texas, California and Illinois federal and state court systems.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of electronic filing/filing procedures in Federal, State, and Bankruptcy Courts.
  • Advanced proficiency with calendaring tools (e.g., eDockets, CourtAlert).
  • Advanced knowledge of PACER/NextGen, CPi, Bloomberg Law, CourtLink, WestLaw Practical Law NYSCEF and Odyssey.
  • Notary Public license preferred.
