About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and operate the backend systems that power the Investigation Agent.
Build the frontend surface that makes the agent's work legible.
Own features end-to-end.
Make the agent reliable.
Partner closely with Product/UX, Data Science, and the rest of Engineering to shape what gets built.
Champion an AI-native engineering workflow.
Help establish engineering best practices for agentic products at Hawk.

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on time in both Python and TypeScript/React.
Deep backend expertise: Python, FastAPI, Postgres, Redis, and comfortable operating services on Kubernetes in production.
Strong frontend chops: React, TypeScript, and modern component libraries (shadcn/ui or Material UI).
Genuinely full-stack mindset.
Hands-on fluency with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent).
Excellent holistic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset, capable of articulating technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
