About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect and build the agentic systems that power the Investigation Agent
- Own context engineering as a first-class discipline
- Build the feedback loops, eval harnesses, and tracing infrastructure
- Make consequential architectural decisions
- Own complex backend engineering work end-to-end across our stack
- Partner closely with Product/UX, Data Science, and the rest of Engineering
- Champion an AI-native engineering workflow
- Help establish the foundational engineering practices for agentic products at Hawk
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience designing and building agentic systems
- Strong intuitions about context engineering, prompt design, eval design, and the failure modes of LLM-based systems
- Solid backend engineering fundamentals
- Hands-on fluency with agentic coding tools
