About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Help estimate the cost of future claims for Motor and Household insurance portfolios while developing strong actuarial and analytical skills.
  • Support the production of monthly and quarterly reserving analyses, including maintaining claims development triangles.
  • Contribute to the estimation of IBNR and ultimate claims costs using established actuarial techniques such as Chain Ladder and Bornhuetter-Ferguson.
  • Analyse and interpret trends in claims experience, working with large datasets through SQL.
  • Help build and maintain reserving models and develop Python-based tools to enhance analysis and automate processes.
  • Support capital reporting activities and develop an understanding of key capital drivers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A numerical or actuarial degree with first class (or predicted first class) honours.
  • High analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Understanding of actuarial concepts.
  • Experience in data analysis or coding, preferably in Python and SQL.
  • Interest in Python for modelling and automation.
  • Interest in AI and advanced analytics workflows.
