About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Help estimate the cost of future claims for Motor and Household insurance portfolios while developing strong actuarial and analytical skills.
- Support the production of monthly and quarterly reserving analyses, including maintaining claims development triangles.
- Contribute to the estimation of IBNR and ultimate claims costs using established actuarial techniques such as Chain Ladder and Bornhuetter-Ferguson.
- Analyse and interpret trends in claims experience, working with large datasets through SQL.
- Help build and maintain reserving models and develop Python-based tools to enhance analysis and automate processes.
- Support capital reporting activities and develop an understanding of key capital drivers.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A numerical or actuarial degree with first class (or predicted first class) honours.
- High analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills.
- Understanding of actuarial concepts.
- Experience in data analysis or coding, preferably in Python and SQL.
- Interest in Python for modelling and automation.
- Interest in AI and advanced analytics workflows.
