About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and analyze HASI’s existing investment portfolio
- Conduct detailed performance reviews of grid-connected and behind-the-meter investments, including production, revenue, and operating expenses
- Manage investment dataflows and map data into the internal database
- Build and manage financial models, including project operating proformas, to analyze economics and review risks
- Collaborate with portfolio management and investment teams
- Prepare briefing decks and management reporting materials synthesizing asset performance and improvement opportunities
- Support due diligence for debt/equity investments and acquisition activity
- Analyze production, operating expenses, and merchant curves
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution or Master’s in Finance, Economics or Business
- 2–5 years of experience in renewable energy project finance/valuation or finance/investment banking in the power sector
- Excellent MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills
- Demonstrable experience working with complex financial models
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
- Dependable and reliable; takes initiative; able to work independently and as a supportive team member
- Advanced experience using Excel required
- Experience with modern data analytics and reporting tools such as Business Objects, SQL, SSMS, SSIS, R, PowerBI, and Tableau preferred
- CFA Charter holder or CFA candidate would be a plus
- Existing H1-B visa sponsorship may be taken over for exceptional talent; new H-1B sponsorship is unavailable
