About the role

  • As a Beck Sales Engineer, you’ll be the technical expert and trusted advisor for customers
  • Help customers solve operational challenges from initial application through installation and long-term support
  • Balance field engagement and office-based responsibilities, including quoting, remote support, and coordinating with internal teams
  • Grow revenue from an existing domestic customer base through targeted sales visits
  • Expand customer base by converting prospects to new end-users
  • Support customers through site visits by educating plant personnel
  • Perform an annual territory sales forecast and provide regular updates on projects in Salesforce.com

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of industrial experience in technical sales, engineering, or applications preferred
  • Knowledge of valves and actuators preferred
  • Experience in municipal water/wastewater, power generation and/or heavy industry markets preferred
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Internally motivated and driven individual capable of organizing and executing action plans with limited supervision
  • Flexibility to work individually or in teams
  • Ability and desire to travel 30 - 50% of the time
  • Capacity to handle (lift/pull) heavy (80 lbs.) demo cases and climb ladders
  • Engineering or other technical 4-year degree
