About the role

  • The Data Scientist will leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to drive proactive clinical decision-making and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical interventions.
  • This position involves designing, developing, and deploying predictive models that integrate a wide range of data sources, including patient notes, claims data, diagnosis records, encounters, electronic health records (EHRs), and laboratory results.
  • The Data Scientist will analyze data to inform clinical strategies and conduct rigorous matched cohort studies to assess the outcomes of interventions.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine predictive models using machine learning techniques, including but not limited to deep learning and traditional modeling for integrating diverse data sources into cohesive predictions
  • Utilize MS SQL and Excel to perform complex data analysis, providing actionable insights to inform pilot interventions and predict their potential impact
  • Conduct matched cohort studies using R and the CMS 100% sample data, applying cohort matching studies to evaluate the efficacy of clinical interventions accurately
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians, growth and other stakeholders to translate analytical findings into actionable clinical strategies
  • Maintain and enhance data processing pipelines and analytics frameworks to support evolving project needs
  • Convert technical and advanced analytical findings into compelling data stories for technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in machine learning techniques and tools, with demonstrated experience using Python and/or R and data science packages such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, pytorch, BERT, XGBoost or comparable stacks.
  • BERT, XGBoost, or similar technologies
  • Expertise in data manipulation and analysis using Python, SQL and Excel
  • Experience with SAS for conducting matched cohort studies, including familiarity with CMS 100% sample data
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
