About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide quality nursing care and services to residents in a respectful and dignified manner
- Coordinate physical, social, and emotional aspects of assisted living care and services according to physician’s orders and residents’ choices
- Execute the medication management plan, review documentation, observe effectiveness, and communicate changes to the physician
- Continuously assess resident needs and communicate care, service, and condition changes
- Implement and document resident wellness and safety measures
- Work as part of a team to meet resident needs
- Respond to emergencies promptly and competently
- Report incidents and resident-condition changes to the Healthcare Director with appropriate documentation
- Participate in activities and community events
- Assist with meal delivery, monitor diet acceptance, and assure adequate nutrition
- Maintain high standards for record keeping and resident and staff documentation
- Establish positive working relationships with all departments
- Identify resident risk factors and initiate and document interventions
- Provide resident-status reports at each shift change and in the Daily Log
- Motivate and direct CNA/RMA staff
- Attend required trainings, CEUs, and staff meetings
- Adhere to policies, procedures, attendance requirements, and safe resident-transfer practices
- Complete other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current LPN license to practice nursing in the state where the community is located, in good standing with the Board of Nursing
- Experience working with the senior population, preferably in assisted living or long-term care
- Team player who works well with others and has experience supervising staff
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and strong organizational skills
- Good physical condition; able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work an 8–16 hour flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Attendance at required trainings, CEUs, and staff meetings
- Must be certified or willing to take and pass the certification class required by the state in which employed
