About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of staff and students
- Open/close the site as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly designated space
- Direct supervision of Youth Leader Sub - ASES Team
- Ensure program compliance through observations, on site coaching, auditing of student files, sign-in sheets, etc.
- Apply progressive disciplinary procedures including Employee Corrective Counseling, while providing strength based support
- Monitor and ensure employees’ timecards are accurate and approved in a timely manner
- Supporting additional tasks as directed
- Evaluate, develop and implement improvement plans for assigned sites
- Supervise day-to-day activities of the Youth Leader Sub - ASES
- Provide regular supervision to reinforce strengths and work on challenges with subordinates
- Develop and implement action plans, trainings, program activities, etc.
- Manage student-staff ratio
- Manage attendance records and program compliance requirements at sites
- Ensure all administrative paperwork is accurate and completed on time
- Work effectively across all program service areas for Agency wide effective communication and operations
- Under HR’s direction will participate in preparing and reviewing in any legal related matters
- Responsible for supervising, coaching, training, directing and evaluating staff
- Responsible for holding regular Supervision Meetings to ensure consistency amongst staff as well as to review policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with staff, parents, and children
- Create and distribute program information internally and externally, including; on-boarding, forms, sign-in sheets, newsletters, calendars of activities, etc.
- Adhere to fiscal and Harmonium policies and procedures
- Advance the Agency’s mission, vision, initiatives and core values within respective role
- Act as a role model for staff
- Provide overall control and direction of staff on how to interact with internal & external customers
- Judgments and decisions are guided by Harmonium and program policies, contracts and guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (a basic math and literacy exam)
- Must have either a minimum of 6 completed units in child development, elementary and/or middle school education, recreation or related field OR a minimum of 6 months documented work experience in an ASES program
- A minimum of 2 years experience working in an after school or group childcare setting with elementary aged children and/or middle school aged children
- A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
