About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the entire payroll process end-to-end, from collecting variable pay elements to issuing payslips.
- Control the accuracy of variable pay elements: working time, overtime, bonuses and commissions, ESPP, absences, and sick/parental leave data.
- Ensure salary calculations comply with legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements (in coordination with HR).
- Implement salary increases (NAO negotiations, promotions) and communicate company-agreement rules to ADP for configuration.
- Check payslips for accuracy before distribution.
- Ensure payroll payment deadlines are met.
- Manage payroll adjustments and corrections, and perform consistency checks.
- Calculate and issue final settlement payments ("solde de tout compte"), in coordination with HR.
- Produce payroll reports for the Finance department.
- Prepare and control the Déclaration Sociale Nominative (DSN).
- Calculate social security contributions.
- Import RSU (restricted stock unit) grants into the DSN.
- Ensure social security contributions are paid within regulatory deadlines.
- Maintain relationships with government and social agencies: URSSAF, pension funds, provident/insurance bodies, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational health services.
- Handle URSSAF audits and prepare supporting documentation requested by social bodies.
- Follow up on IJSS reimbursements (daily social security benefits) and calculate additional provident-fund benefits, in coordination with HR.
- Reconcile payroll data against social declarations.
- Monitor changes in labor law on an ongoing basis, in coordination with HR.
- Apply legislative changes to payroll practices.
- Adapt internal practices to new legal obligations, in coordination with HR.
- Calculate and report on personnel costs.
- Calculate provisions related to paid leave.
- Act as the payroll point of contact for the HR department.
- Liaise with the Finance department, including payroll cost calculation for the Research Tax Credit (CIR).
- Support managers and employees on payroll-related questions, in coordination with HR.
- Liaise with statutory auditors during audits and reviews.
- Act as the main contact for social security bodies and the tax administration on payroll matters.
- Manage the relationship with payroll and time-management software vendors.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's (Bac+3) to Master's (Bac+5) degree in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, or Labor Law.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in payroll and personnel administration.
- Prior experience in payroll management.
- Practical experience with payroll and time-management systems.
- Hands-on experience preparing DSN declarations and managing relationships with URSSAF or other social bodies.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously under recurring monthly deadlines.
- Fluent in French and professional working proficiency in English (B2).
- Comfortable partnering with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.
