About the role
- Manage and execute category sourcing strategies and savings objectives globally.
- Manage global supply base activities including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance, innovation and conflict resolution.
- Oversee and implement category strategies aligned with business units, engineering, quality and manufacturing.
- Require knowledge of business unit technology and product roadmaps and expertise in procurement of mechanical and electrical parts and manufacturing cost structure.
- Oversee end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement process for assigned categories.
- Provide thought leadership and innovative strategies to optimize sourcing effectiveness and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Interface the Pro division with global sourcing on procedures, processes, strategy definition/implementation and tools; maintain Purchase Info Records, Master Data and ERP files.
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned with product roadmaps and stakeholders to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
- Organize and lead regular QBRs with strategic suppliers to drive continuous improvement on vendor performance metrics.
- Coordinate with corporate and regional stakeholders to standardize product specifications and implement long-term strategic goals.
- Lead teams to establish specifications, processes, policies, and procedures to manage demand for assigned categories.
- Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact of the supply chain.
- Establish vendor relationships, manage category supply base, perform advanced negotiations and RFx to realize annual savings and select key vendors.
- Ensure expedient and compliant implementation of new contracts and monitor performance against contracts and benchmarks quarterly.
- Identify and evaluate market changes and new technologies and recommend adoption to stakeholders.
- Track and report on performance metrics and ensure sourcing activities comply with regulations through audits and assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum 8+ years of procurement experience.
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities in English.
- Prior experience in sourcing and negotiating direct materials (focusing on metal components sourced out of NA region) in a consumer electronics or professional products environment.
- Ability to use strategic category management techniques to achieve results.
- Social intelligence to influence and lead at senior levels.
- Strong skills in supplier management, negotiation, contract development/analysis, supplier evaluation, price/cost analysis, and TCO.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Eligible to work in the US.
- Successfully complete background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Bonus: Prior experience sourcing raw materials, tooling, complex services, e-mech components and/or raw PCB.
- Bonus: Master’s degree in business administration.
- Bonus: 5+ years working experience with OEM, JDM or ODM on complex products or subassembly from NPD through End of Life.
- Bonus: Experience in the professional lighting industry.
- Experience using benchmarking and cost analysis tools to deliver negotiation outcomes.
