About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze donor participation and engagement metrics to re-engage donors and deepen engagement
  • Communicate with donors in partnership with portfolio owners
  • Conduct pipeline analysis and prospect research to identify potential donors and funding partners
  • Write donor profiles and distribute them to portfolio owners
  • Manage a portfolio of donors supporting all five regions, including scholarship, “in honor of,” and small-grant programs
  • Support Associate Boards across all five regions and nationally
  • Collaborate with Operations and portfolio owners to maintain accurate donor information, donation tracking, and donor data
  • Keep donor prospect and campaign information current in Trello and aligned with CiviCRM
  • Prepare donor correspondence, letters, invoices, reports, pledges, commitment follow-through materials, and other stewardship resources
  • Track and share portfolio analytics, donor performance, and other performance metrics
  • Provide staffing support for national fundraising events as needed
  • Maintain shared Development team resources, including grant attachments and Development files on Drive

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated writing skills
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Understanding of Harlem Lacrosse’s collaborative national model
  • Basic knowledge of CiviCRM and other donor management systems
  • Basic knowledge of Trello and other project management systems
  • Commitment to racial and gender equity
  • Strong communication, project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Passion for supporting systematically disenfranchised youth, preferably through mentoring, education, and/or sports-based youth development
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends when required
  • Ability to undertake local, regional, and occasional overnight team travel
  • Ability to work successfully with employees across different geographies and time zones
