About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform or provide oversight to all aspects of loss prevention, risk management and safety activities
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the Hargrove organization through risk/gap assessments, safety management system improvements, and personal interaction with teammates
- Conduct risk assessments on Hargrove work activities to identify potential risks and gaps in safety systems
- Continually improve safety management procedures
- Interact with teammates in offices and onsite to promote safety culture and audit compliance with procedures
- Identify needs and develop/manage HSE/Loss Prevention policies and processes
- Identify potential loss areas and develop prevention strategies, including leading the Safety Leadership Team
- Identify, develop and deliver HSE training
- Work with Construction Management to provide qualified Field Safety Managers for construction projects
- Review subcontractor and client agreements with Procurement to avoid unnecessary risk
- Develop and promote relationships with clients’ HSE representatives
- Work with project managers to incorporate HSE considerations throughout design and construction
- Work independently with general guidance from the Vice President of EPC Services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Public Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene (MSPH) from an accredited university is preferred
- Ability to achieve certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP, ASP, SMS, CHST or STSC) is preferred
- 15 or more years of relevant industrial and construction safety, risk management and management experience
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards and other Loss Prevention best practices
- Working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene & Safety principles and practices
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects efficiently
- Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
