About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform all aspects of project management for moderately complex engineering project assignments
  • Deliver services on time, within performance budget, and to quality expectations
  • Manage promotional projects and estimate Professional Services man-hours with Engineering Resource Leaders
  • Manage commercial contracts across projects of various sizes
  • Ensure timely invoice payment, process Project Change Notices, review monthly Office Earnings Reports, and maintain project plans in Vision
  • Track discipline performance budgets, schedule commitments, and quality standards using project control tools
  • Participate in major technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions
  • Understand project scope, specifications, client deliverables, and design criteria; align the Hargrove team on schedule and budget
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with client stakeholders
  • Communicate scope and design changes and champion the Project Change Notice process
  • Build and lead productive teams within Hargrove and with the client
  • Coordinate resources, plan and organize team work, communicate plans, and align expectations
  • Conduct weekly team coordination meetings
  • Maintain timely and accurate weekly and monthly reporting and action item lists
  • Review engineering documents, vendor submittals, fabrication drawings, and construction submittals for compliance
  • Ensure documentation is reviewed against vendor submittals, specifications, interdisciplinary requirements, and project objectives
  • Ensure standard project work processes are followed through engineering, procurement, and construction phases
  • Interview discipline leads to track progress against man-hours expended
  • Maintain overall project financial health and coordinate deliverables within budget
  • Assess project team performance and organize qualified, motivated teams
  • Ensure project documentation is reviewed and approved by the client
  • Provide construction phase support, start-up assistance, and responses to Requests for Information
  • Manage client decision-making and package approvals
  • Maintain positive client relations and develop long-term relationships
  • Complete project closeout
  • Proactively manage client needs throughout all project stages

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred
  • Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred
  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management
  • Knowledge of Hargrove project execution procedures
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices
  • Knowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management
  • Ability to lead a team to deliver commitments
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations
  • Ability to relate to customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional associations, and trade associations
  • Ability to handle stress with poise
  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences
  • Ability to delegate authority appropriately
