About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop bid packages
- Submit Requests for Quote (RFQs)
- Evaluate commercial proposals
- Award purchase orders
- Expedite vendor data and equipment for various projects
- Interpret project scopes, statements of work, and project schedules
- Develop procurement plans for goods and services supporting projects
- Organize and execute contracts
- Negotiate contract conditions with suppliers and contractors
- Mentor less experienced Procurement Teammates
- Perform work under general supervision
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial experience in Supply Chain Management, specifically Project Procurement
- Familiarity with heavy industrial projects, including chemical, refining, pulp and paper, power, and manufacturing
- Ability to organize effectively and execute contracts
- Complete understanding of contract language and commercial terms and conditions
- Working knowledge of contract law and the UCC
- Ability to negotiate contract conditions with suppliers and contractors
- Working knowledge of International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS)
- Knowledge and understanding of payment terms
- Proficient in SAP, Ariba, or other ERP software
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written listening and communication skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
