About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage fuel procurement for a defined region, covering ~5 million tons and ~$6B annually.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and daily spot deals to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Monitor fuel markets and economic indicators to support informed procurement decisions.
  • Ensure timely and reliable fuel supply aligned with commercial and operational targets.
  • Collaborate with external energy companies and internal teams (e.g.fleet, operations).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and partners.
  • Support the company’s transition to sustainable fuels and environmental objectives.
  • Track industry trends and provide regular insights, reports, and performance updates.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in energy, shipping, or commodities.
  • Strong interest and understanding of energy markets, shipping, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and data.
  • Proactive, independent, and resilient, with a solution-oriented approach to decision-making.
  • Willingness to take on early responsibility and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages and international travel experience are a plus.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, or related field, with a passion for sustainability.
