About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the coordination of utility subcontractors and execution/documentation for customer-facing utility commercial and industrial programs
  • Support electric utility programs and post-storm damage assessment and restoration efforts across Florida
  • Promote Hanson’s Safe Work Practices and verify required safety protocols are documented
  • Respond to utility-issued work involving customer programs and electrical infrastructure damage after severe weather events
  • Conduct field assessments of substations, distribution lines, and service panels
  • Follow communication, quality assurance, program, and storm response protocols
  • Coordinate with utility providers, emergency management agencies, utility customers, subcontractors, and Hanson project teams
  • Document findings, repairs, recommendations, and other work in detailed reports
  • Participate in planning client meetings for pre- and post-storm evaluations
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and develop communication and work processes as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience as a licensed electrical contractor, troubleman, operational electrical engineer, Journeyman Lineman, or electrical distribution technician
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electric utility distribution system maintenance, construction, and operations
  • Demonstrated experience with storm response protocols and emergency electrical restoration within an Incident Command Structure
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and utility infrastructure
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience communicating with utility customers
  • Ability to travel throughout Florida on short notice
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
  • Physical stamina to perform fieldwork and carry equipment
  • Prior experience with utility companies or emergency response teams preferred
  • Prior experience leading contractors in an operational setting preferred
  • Certifications in electrical safety, disaster recovery, or storm response preferred
