About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with operational goals
- Support leaders through change management, restructuring, and growth initiatives
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace issues
- Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns in a timely and fair manner
- Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and engagement
- Drive performance management processes by coaching managers on employee feedback, and performance improvement
- Identify training needs and support learning initiatives
- Partner with HR leadership on compensation planning and market alignment
- Support annual merit, bonus, and review cycles
- Manage escalated benefit-related questions and partner with insurance plan brokers to develop and maintain benefit plans
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data (Workday)
- Support audits, reporting, and policy development
- Support employee engagement initiatives and company-wide programs
- Reinforce Hanson’s core values and culture across all business units
- Monitor engagement trends and recommend actionable improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience supporting multi-site or field-based workforce environments
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with leadership
- Preferred SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
- Experience in engineering, construction, or professional services industry
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms
