About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform geotechnical investigations, including planning, field exploration, laboratory testing coordination, and data reduction.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, foundation recommendations, slope stability analyses, and settlement evaluations.
- Support design of foundations, retaining structures, embankments for roadways and railways, flood control systems and pavement systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental engineers.
- Assist with construction support services such as submittal reviews, field observations, and problem resolution.
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project coordination activities.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical development within the team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering required.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience working on geotechnical projects in transportation corridors, site development, facilities and water/wastewater systems preferred.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, LPILE, SLIDE, PLAXIS, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with subsurface exploration techniques and laboratory testing standards.
- Strong understanding of soil-structure interaction and geotechnical design principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical report writing.
- Valid driver’s license required.
