About the role
- Operate as a freelance interpreter or translator in a 1099 Independent Contractor role.
- Provide language access services to clients, bridging communication gaps for non-English speakers.
- Set your own availability and accept appointments based on schedule.
- Interpret in various settings (medical, legal, educational, and community appointments).
- Work appointments Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; appointments are offered based on need and are not guaranteed.
- Complete skills assessment, background check, and onboarding if qualified.
- Act professionally, punctual, and adaptable while working independently or as part of a team.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
- Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic communication
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
