About the role
- Operate as a freelance interpreter (1099 Independent Contractor) connecting bilingual/multilingual individuals with interpreting opportunities.
- Provide interpretation services supporting language access for clients in medical, legal, educational, and other settings.
- Set and manage your own availability; accept appointments based on schedule and demand.
- Attend appointments (available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm) as assigned; appointments are not guaranteed and are offered based on need.
- Participate in recruitment steps: preliminary interview, skills assessment, background check, and onboarding to join the linguist network.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
- Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic communication.
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
