About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply multiple layers of material/fiber to surfaces, assuring adhesion until the desired thickness, contour, and strength are achieved
- Fit and smooth successive layers in the proper orientation, free from wrinkles, air pockets, contamination, and voids
- Work from work orders, specifications, and written instructions to lay up composites
- Use basic composite bagging procedures to complete the lay-up process
- Load and cure composite components in the press load or autoclave when required
- Monitor and verify the quality of finished products
- Document work according to the manufacturing order process
- Promote a safe work area and general shop safety
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Less than 1 year of related experience
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Comfortable using power tools and standard shop equipment
- Must be able to read and follow detailed work instructions and prints
- Capable of lifting loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Self-motivation and inclination to take ownership of job duties
- Adhere to company policies and safety procedures
- Perform basic math functions to include addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Basic computer skills; open and find data in simple applications
- English/Spanish a plus
