About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, provide information on wait times, and address front-desk inquiries
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
  • Handle walk-in registrations
  • Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
  • Serve as a liaison for clinic services and provide information about patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management team to obtain necessary patient information
  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience required
  • Experience in a receptionist position or medical front-office procedures preferred
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy standards
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, including telephone, and written communication skills
  • Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
  • Ability to work with handicapped individuals
  • Understanding of Alpha filing system
  • Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology and front-office receptionist duties preferred
  • Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
  • Ability to use necessary office equipment, including facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, and copier
  • Talent Sorter assessment fit preferred and administered during selection
