About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist certified clinicians in delivering patient care services under direct supervision
- Prepare treatment rooms and patients for clinical procedures
- Perform technical fabrication tasks, including making and modifying molds
- Execute treatment modifications, adjustments, and repairs as directed by the supervising clinician
- Fit and provide soft goods items to patients
- Provide alterations and adjustments to soft goods items as needed
- Provide orthotics fitting services independently
- Assist with selected patient follow-up care under clinician direction
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient care provided
- Communicate patient information and care outcomes to the supervising clinician
- Ensure all patient procedures comply with clinical protocols and standards
- Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory monitoring of prosthetic and orthotic materials
- Contact and coordinate with vendors to order necessary materials and supplies
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
- Adhere to safety regulations, Medicare and governmental regulations, blood borne requirements, and OSHA requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient facing role
- Preference for allied health professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic trainer, etc.)
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures standards
- Willingness to verify all clinical activities with certified clinical personnel
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Hand skills necessary to use laboratory tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of biomechanical principles
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patient and staff
- Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Act with integrity in all ways and at all times
