About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply multiple layers of material/fiber to surfaces assuring adhesion and repeating the process until the desired thickness, contour, and strength is achieved
- Fit and smooth successive layers of materials in the proper orientation as necessary to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, contaminations, and voids
- Work from work orders, specifications, and written instructions to lay-up composites
- Use basic composite bagging procedures to complete the lay-up process
- If required, load and cure composite components in the press load or autoclave
- Monitor and verify the quality of finished product
- Document work according to manufacturing order process
- Promote safe work area and general shop safety
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Less than 1 year of related experience
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Comfortable using power tools and standard shop equipment
- Must be able to read and follow detailed work instructions and prints
- Capable of lifting loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Self-motivation and inclination to take ownership of job duties
- Adhere to company policies and safety procedures
- Perform basic math functions to include addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Basic computer skills; open and find data in simple applications
- English/Spanish a plus
- Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.
