About the role

  • Perform fabrication and repair of prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards
  • Employ existing processes to move a project through the fabrication workflow
  • Fabricate diagnostic and definitive rolled silicone sockets custom to each project
  • Create, modify, and duplicate plaster models
  • Exhibit basic knowledge of and skill with 3D printing, 3D scanning, and computer modeling techniques (CAD)
  • Perform assembly of the final prosthesis
  • Collaborate with team members on project design and troubleshooting
  • Operate various equipment, machinery, and tools to construct devices
  • Document work and maintain logs
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment
  • Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
  • Work under close supervision
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical training school preferred
  • Less than 1 year of related experience
  • Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses and orthoses (according to patient measurements, casts, and in compliance with a physician's prescription)
  • Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively
  • Effective organizational, time management and planning skills
  • Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships
