About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the technical administration and support of production storage systems and services.
- Participates in the development and implementation of high-performance, high-availability, and enterprise-class storage strategy and data life cycle management processes.
- Performs storage Logical Unit Number-LUN creation/destruction and allocation/de-allocation via Storage Area Network-SAN Management software.
- Executes SAN Fabric director/switch zoning for new servers and storage devices.
- Manages storage related servers, software and devices.
- Responsible for the overall design and capacity planning for the consolidated storage environments implemented by the Operations and Technology Division as well as assisting with related budget planning.
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems relating to storage devices and connectivity to servers.
- Assists in the documentation of current and future storage environment.
- Manages storage-related database related environments.
- Ensures all storage related technologies are installed, configured and maintained in accordance with government regulations and bank policies/procedures governing day-to-day operations.
- Keeps abreast of storage laws, trends, and issues including current and emerging technologies and best practices; and educates and advises management on their relative importance and impact on bank operations.
- Recommends changes as appropriate.
- Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Incumbent is responsible for organizational integrity and business ethics as it relates to this position, and communicating this commitment to any applicable subordinates.
- Performs all other job related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Incumbent may have access to cash, customer accounts and/or sensitive and confidential information.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Information Technology related Bachelor of Science degree and 7 years of related experience or an equivalent amount of training and experience to such as a High School Diploma combined with 10 years of directly related experience
- EMC Proven Professional and MCSE Certification preferred
- 3 years of experience working with enterprise storage technologies such as storage arrays, Storage Area Networks (SAN) management software, virtualization software, fabric architecture, Fiber Channel (FC) switches, hubs, directors; Host Business Adapters-HBA utilities, Network Attached Storage-NAS and network file serving, and iFCP
- Experience with LAN/WAN/SAN leading edge technology, MS Terminal Services and other means of private wide-area communications for reviewing purposes, security models, automation of system-to-system communication and monitoring
- 2 years of experience with Microsoft Window enterprise operating systems
- Experience with networking principles such as IP communication, OSI model, packet structure, load balancing equipment, and troubleshooting
- Excellent knowledge of backup, recover, and disaster recovery schemes, schedules and testing methodologies, storage data replication, snapshot, Redundant Array of Independent Disks-RAID and data movement software, enterprise tape libraries
- Good knowledge of hardware technologies and systems support – administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security and general maintenance
- Knowledge of applicable data retention practices and laws.
