About the role
- Support finance reporting team based in Australia
- Process month end journals, including review of allocated general ledger accounts/ business areas and posting of relevant accruals, prepayments, and inventory adjustments as required
- Deliver within reporting timelines and provide variance analysis on actual vs budget
- Ensure the integrity of information entered in the general ledger in accordance with finance policies and procedures
- Maintain and reconcile assigned Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Engage with business partners or senior analysts to understand drivers behind results and provide exceptional support as required
- Assist Senior Analyst with preparation of audit workpapers and reconciliations meeting group external audit requirements
- Maintain understanding of consolidated group reporting model associated accounting system Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
- Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting as required
- Identify improvements in accounting and reporting of transactions, reducing time to complete
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
- CA or CPA qualified
- Experience in a commercial accounting or business analyst role
- Proven experience in data analytics, including the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights
- Strong capability in preparing and presenting reports using Power BI, with a focus on clear visualisation and business decision support
- Very strong time management & English communication skills
- Analytical, problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail
- Experience in processing journals, variance investigation, adjustments, and reconciliation of GL accounts
- A team player with energy and initiative, able to work cohesively under pressure to meet reporting timelines
- Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
- Desirable: Experience with IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition) and IFRS 16 (Lease)
- Desirable: Experience with SAP BPC reporting tool
