About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and operate the enterprise Change Management process aligned to ITIL best practices
  • Chair and coordinate the Change Control Board, including preparation, agenda management, risk reviews, and decision tracking
  • Ensure standard, normal, and emergency changes follow approval workflows and are risk-rated
  • Enforce change freezes, blackout periods, and major business event protection
  • Act as the final escalation point for high-risk or cross-platform changes
  • Define and maintain the release management framework, release calendars, bundling strategies, and go-live governance
  • Coordinate cross-team releases spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud, security, and data platforms
  • Ensure release readiness, including testing, rollback plans, communications, monitoring, and support readiness
  • Partner with DevOps and Engineering to align CI/CD pipelines with release governance
  • Own Azure DevOps as the authoritative platform for change records, approvals, release tracking, risk documentation, and audit evidence
  • Design and improve Azure DevOps workflows, templates, dashboards, and automation
  • Produce executive reporting on change volume, risk, success rates, and change-related incidents
  • Coordinate governance for AI-enabled solutions, automation, machine learning, and third-party AI services
  • Ensure AI-related changes include technical risk assessments and required governance controls
  • Partner with Information Security, Legal, Compliance, Data, and business stakeholders before production release
  • Maintain audit-ready evidence for AI approvals, testing, risk decisions, exceptions, and post-implementation reviews
  • Interface between IT Operations, Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Application teams, and the business
  • Communicate changes to impacted stakeholders, support teams, and end users
  • Partner with Incident and Problem Management on post-implementation reviews and reducing change-related incidents
  • Ensure processes meet regulatory, audit, and technology governance expectations
  • Maintain audit trails, approvals, and evidence for material changes
  • Analyze trends and metrics to improve change success rates and reduce unplanned outages
  • Mature the organization from reactive change control to predictable, high-quality delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years’ experience in IT Change Management, Release Management, or Service Management roles
  • Deep practical experience with ITIL-aligned change control and Change Control Boards
  • Strong hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for changes, releases, workflows, and reporting
  • Proven experience coordinating complex, cross-team releases in enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Application delivery
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with audit and compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting AI governance, technical risk assessments, or technology risk reviews for AI-enabled solutions, automation, or emerging technology platforms
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and decision-making skills
  • ITIL v4 certification or equivalent desirable
  • Experience integrating change governance with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines desirable
  • Familiarity with SOX, DORA, ISO 27001/22301, or similar regulatory frameworks desirable
  • Familiarity with ISO 42001, EU AI Act principles, or structured AI governance and model risk management practices desirable
  • Experience designing dashboards and KPIs for executive reporting desirable
  • Strong governance mindset with pragmatic delivery focus
