About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manufacture a multitude of machined parts under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist
- Produce quality, defect-free parts on CNC machines including lathes and milling machines
- Load parts, prove tapes, operate controls, set offsets, and inspect parts for conformance to requirements
- Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequence, and setup requirements
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment
- Adhere to state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, company policies, and safety and environmental regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing/machine shop setting at any level
- Preferred 3–5 years’ experience operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales
- Intermediate knowledge of reading drawings and specifications
- Intermediate understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions
- Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Adaptability to changing work environments, competing demands, frequent change, delays, and unexpected events
- Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules
- Basic math skills
- Swing shift availability: Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–12:00am
