About the role

  • Accountable for regular and consistent attendance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Adequate and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Daily communication and documentation using Microsoft Office products.
  • Maintain area and equipment cleanliness/organization.
  • Complete documentation regarding support tickets, task completions and work instructions.
  • Interface with supervisors/leads regarding troubleshooting and production support.
  • Develop relationships with shop personnel and an understanding of interdepartmental processes to provide work center support.
  • Plan and execute production improvements.
  • Investigate new processes and improvement implementations.
  • Procure equipment and resources needed for improvements and implementations.
  • Justify resources, equipment and processes.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors regarding modification or installation of machinery and utilities.
  • Provide quality determinations and possible solutions.
  • Create and track Engineering Change Orders, Manufacturing Quality Alerts and Noncompliance Reports.
  • Make adjustments to prints regarding dimensional changes, costs and manufacturability.
  • Provide work holding improvement for new or existing products.
  • Interface with programming regarding improvement opportunities.
  • Estimate part manufacturing cost based on machine shop capability, material and outside processes.
  • Provide insight for R&D engineers on shop capabilities and repeatability to reduce costs and improve practices for new and existing parts.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related engineering required.
  • 0-3 years of experience with various types of machining and manufacturing or other related industry.
  • A team player who collaborates.
  • Familiar with individual machine safety features/dangers.
  • Must possess competent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel.
  • Must demonstrate proficient computer literacy.
  • Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting techniques and critical thinking skills.
  • Competent in maintaining databases or archives.
  • Must be able to read drawings and specifications with a proficient understanding of GD&T.
  • Understands how to properly inspect parts based off specified dimensions and tolerances.
  • Knowledgeable of common manufacturing practices.
  • Proficient using CAD software to design and model fixtures, parts and tooling.
  • Familiar with ISO, LEAN and Six Sigma manufacturing practices.
