About the role

  • Prepare cost segregation studies for real estate clients across the U.S.
  • Review construction documents, invoices, settlement statements, and fixed asset schedules.
  • Perform construction cost analysis of architectural, site, civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialty components.
  • Assist with on-site property inspections to document building systems and components as needed.
  • Travel up to 20%, including occasional overnight travel for property inspections.
  • Prepare and maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure accurate integration into tax compliance and planning.
  • Develop technical expertise in cost segregation, MACRS depreciation, and real estate-related tax concepts.
  • Deliver a best-in-class client experience through accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of building construction methods and systems.
  • Read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Use our tech stack proficiently, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Clickup, Hubspot, and construction software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cost segregation, construction, engineering, estimating, appraisal, inspections, or related fields (Internship or transferable experience welcomed.)
  • Knowledge of construction cost data (e.g., RSMeans or Marshall & Swift) is a plus, but not required.
