About the role
- Lead and support one or more Cloud Engineering teams.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, autonomy, and accountability.
- Actively mentor engineers and emerging leaders to grow their impact and effectiveness.
- Partner with leaders across the organization to drive infrastructure strategy, CI/CD improvements, observability practices, and operational maturity.
- Collaborate closely with product, QA, and agility partners to align on priorities, delivery, and scope.
- Own operational health of your teams: on-call rotations, velocity tracking, and continuous improvement.
- Step in to unblock teams, remove organizational friction, and help create momentum.
- Maintain deep context on what your team is building and why, offering strategic perspective without micromanaging.
- Occasionally dip into the codebase to review pull requests, understand implementation details, and provide relevant technical feedback.
- Support a strong culture of engineering rigor, ensuring teams build with quality, observability, security, and performance in mind.
- Partner with engineers and technical leads to shape architectural direction and maintain high technical standards.
Requirements
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams, preferably in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS
- Familiarity with cloud-native architecture and DevOps practices, including AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.
- Track record of creating strong team culture, high trust, and psychological safety.
- Effective coach with experience guiding engineers, peers, and upward into executive leadership.
- Solid understanding of modern software development practices, including infrastructure, observability, and reliability.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, scaling challenges, and cross-functional alignment.
- Excellent communicator who leads with clarity, empathy, and pragmatism.
