This role will oversee drawing reviews, capex planning, and automation feedback for 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing as part of the Factories as a Service team.
The Hadrian Factories as a Service team works across all manufacturing methods, and this role is expected to serve as the Lead Engineer for scoping, designing, planning, and providing automation feedback for 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing across all material types and configurations.
You’ll be able to review drawings for manufacturability rapidly, select the right CapEx for part numbers and assemblies, advise our automation team on 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing best practices, and have a deep working knowledge of production and inspection methods for 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing.
This role will both assist in building new factories for existing production scope, as well as contribute to the manufacturing processes of new products where 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing is a designed-in function.
Recruit and lead 1-2, 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing MEs to assist, and work with Hadrian’s Automation and Factories Leadership teams to design and ship comprehensive 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing production and inspection lines.
Analyse customer drawings and current state of production to design, build, and guide automation of 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing DFM, Production, and Inspection Lines
Contribute as a key player in factories as a service efforts
Deliver cost/schedule/solutions in partnership with our customers and the Federal team
Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Requirements
Senior Manager or above level who’s technically in the weeds, with deep expertise in 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing production and inspection
Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
Capable of leading 1-2 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing MEs
Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing
Prior experience standing up new 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
Performed or familiar with conversion of casting to additive manufacturing, including DFM feedback
Working knowledge of 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing technology and CapEx
