Oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for casting as part of the Factories as a Service team
Serve as Lead Engineer for scoping, designing, planning, and automation feedback for casting across all material types and configurations
Review drawings for manufacturability, select appropriate CapEx for part numbers and assemblies, and advise the automation team on casting best practices
Design, build, and guide automation of casting DFM, production, and inspection lines
Assist in building new factories for existing production scope and contribute to manufacturing processes for new products where casting is designed-in
Deliver cost, schedule, and solutions in partnership with customers and the Federal team
Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Recruit and lead 1-2 casting manufacturing engineers
Collaborate with Hadrian’s Automation and Factories Leadership teams to design and ship comprehensive casting production and inspection lines
Requirements
Senior Manager or above level with deep expertise in casting production and inspection
Deep knowledge of foundry operations and multiple casting methods (such as sand and investment casting) across various materials, primarily steel and CuNi
Able to review drawings for manufacturability rapidly (DFM)
Able to analyse DFM and design/plan production and inspection lines for casting
Prior experience standing up new casting lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
Capable of leading 1-2 casting manufacturing engineers
Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
ITAR requirements: must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain authorizations by start date
Willingness to relocate to Los Angeles if not LA based
Software or automation experience is helpful but not required
