Oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for Forging as part of the Factories as a Service team
Lead scoping, design, planning, and automation feedback for forging across all material types and configurations
Rapidly review drawings for manufacturability and select appropriate CapEx for part numbers and assemblies
Advise automation team on forging best practices and production/inspection methods
Assist in building new factories for existing production scope and contribute to manufacturing of new products where forging is designed-in
Recruit and lead 1-2 Forging Manufacturing Engineers and collaborate with Automation and Factories Leadership to design and ship production and inspection lines
Deliver cost, schedule, and solutions in partnership with customers and the Federal team
Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Travel to DOD and prime facilities for requirements gathering and collaboration (~25% travel)
Requirements
Senior Manager or above level who’s technically in the weeds, with deep expertise in forging production and inspection
Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
Capable of leading 1-2 Forging MEs
Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for Forging
Prior experience standing up new Forging lines in Aerospace, Automotive or other domains
Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
Working knowledge of forging technology and CapEx (preferred)
Software or automation experience helpful but not required
ITAR requirements: must be U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations
Willingness to relocate to Los Angeles if not LA-based (application asks about willingness to relocate)
