About the role
- Oversee drawing reviews, capital expenditure planning, and automation feedback for Large Format CNC
- Serve as Lead Engineer for scoping, designing, planning, and providing automation feedback for Large Format CNC machines
- Review drawings for manufacturability and select CapEx for part numbers and assemblies
- Advise automation team on Large Format CNC best practices and production/inspection methods
- Assist in building new factories for existing production scope and contribute to manufacturing processes of new products
- Recruit and lead 1-2 Large Format CNC MEs and collaborate with Automation and Factories Leadership teams
- Analyse customer drawings and current state of production to design, build, and guide automation of DFM, Production, and Inspection Lines
- Deliver cost/schedule/solutions in partnership with customers and the Federal team
- Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Requirements
- Senior Manager or above level with deep expertise in Large Format CNC production and inspection
- Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
- Capable of leading 1-2 Large Format CNC MEs
- Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for Large Format CNC
- Prior experience standing up new Large Format CNC lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
- Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
- Post machining of large-format castings (preferred)
- Working knowledge of controller automation and the current state of equipment selection
- Software or automation experience helpful
- Working knowledge of Large Format CNC technology and CapEx
- ITAR eligibility: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations
